Italy’s gelato scene is broad and constantly changing. For a current reference, this selection uses the Gambero Rosso Gelaterie d’Italia 2027 guide, presented on 19 June 2026. The guide includes 583 businesses and awards its highest recognition, the Tre Coni, to 77 gelato shops.

The ten addresses below are not a numbered universal ranking. They are a practical selection of shops highlighted by the 2027 guide through its top rating, new-entry recognition or special awards.

Santo Musumeci — Randazzo, Sicily

Named Gelateria of the Year in the 2027 guide, this gelateria-pasticceria represents a family tradition shaped by the work of Giovanna Musumeci.

The Rag — Atripalda, Campania

Led by Gian Paolo Capaldo, The Rag received the Newcomer of the Year special award.

Ele Gelati e Granite — Lucca, Tuscany

Eleonora Prinzi received the Emerging Gelato Maker special award.

100% Naturale — Sestri Levante and Chiavari, Liguria

One of three businesses recognised for Best Gastronomic Gelato, an award focused on coherent sweet-and-savoury experimentation.

Capodilatte — Vicenza, Veneto
